Ruth Brophy, Make Up Artist
Ruth graduated from the Institute of Art, Design and Technology, Dublin, ‘Make up for Film, TV and Special Effects which covered all aspects of working in film and television including prosthetics, wounds, body painting and tattoo work.
Ruth moved to London to study at the University of the Arts, London College of Fashion completing the ‘Fashion and Editorial Make up’ degree course which focuses of fashion and print media. Working freelance on editorial shoots, advertising campaigns, fashion week show’s and music videos with top photographers Ruth has published work in magazines from British Vogue to Elle and id Magazine.
Ruth continues to work in television and specializes in tattoo and body painting and other current activities include tutoring and lecturing at the London College of Fashion, Central St Martins,University of the Arts and IADT in Dublin.
Ruth was Head of Design for Elaine Constantine's BAFTA nominated feature film "Northern Soul" which was released by Universal in 2014, Northern Soul won the NME award for "Best Film"
Ruth was Head of Design For Adrian Nobles feature film "Mrs Lowry and Son" featuring Timothy Spall and Vanessa Redgrave, due for release in 2018
